Dynasty Fantasy Football: Waiver adds for the off season

Most dynasty managers stop paying attention to the waiver wire as soon as their season ends, but waiver adds now could give you a major advantage coming into the 2024 season. Lets take a look at some guys that may be available in your leagues and have 2024 potential.

Jelani Woods, TE IND
Hamstring issues plagued Woods in 2023 causing him to miss the entire season. Woods is a huge target and is freakishly athletic – which is what we all want with our tight ends! He is most likely already stashed on a roster, but if he isn’t be sure to grab the Colts TE1 for the 2024 season.

Elijah Higgins, WR/TE ARI
Miami selected Higgins with the 197th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, but waived the former Stanford Cardinal in August. Arizona was quick to claim the WR/TE hybrid. Standing 6’3″ and weighing in at 235 pounds, Higgins is a massive target. He has started to make his case for more playing time in the 2024 season.

Chris Rodriguez, RB WASH
Rodriguez was finally giving a shot in week 15 this season and had a breakout game week 16 against the stingy Jets defense. Unfortunately Rodriguez feel victim to IR thanks to an ankle injury. Antonio Gibson is unlikely to return to Washington leaving Brian Robinson as the only RB on the roster in the way of touches.

Justin Shorter, WR BUF
Shorter killed my 2023 sleeper prediction by going on IR with a hamstring injury early in the season. Gabe Davis is set to become a free agent and Buffalo currently does not have an obvious replacement. Shorter flashed a bit in the preseason catching 6 passes for 66 yards and 1 TD.

Tre Tucker, WR LV
The Raiders seem to be giving Tucker an opportunity to show that he belongs on the roster in 2024. Tucker is still a bit raw, but has flashed big play potential for LV. Its seems all but guaranteed that Hunter Renfrow will be moving on, thus opening up a spot in the slot for Tucker.

Tyler Huntley, QB BALT
Huntley will be entering 2024 as a 26 year old unrestricted free agent. Even though he is two years removed from a season where the league took notice, there are several teams that could look to Huntley to compete for a starting gig.
