Fantasy Football: 5 Bold Predictions

With the regular season being a week away, I would like to share some of my 2023 Fantasy Football bold predictions.

Greg Dulcich finishes as a top 5 TE.

The tight end position is always very difficult to predict after your big 3. Dulcich had a promising ten games during his rookie season. He managed to average 5.5 targets a game in a very bad Broncos offense. The Broncos did not bring in any real competition to Dulcich, who was on the field for 76% of the teams offensive snaps as a rookie. New coach Sean Payton has mentioned Dulcich having “traits that are exciting” when discussing his history with TEs being used in the “joker” role. For those unaware, the joker role is where a player is lined up all over the field to create mismatches. As I mentioned, the TE position is hard to predict in fantasy football, but I am putting my money on Dulcich being the next TE to elevate into stud status.

Kenneth Walker is a top 5 fantasy RB.

After a slow start to his rookie season, Kenneth Walker (K9) erupted for over 1000 yards rushing on 228 attempts. Seattle drafted UCLA standout Zach Charbonnet in the 2nd round, causing many in the fantasy community to overreact and undervalue K9. In my eyes, this RB tandem in a great duo that resembles what Cleveland had with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. I expect Walker to be the Nick Chubb of this offense as he is an elite runner with exceptional burst, vision, and balance.

Tank Bigsby outproduces Travis Etienne.

Travis Etienne is a promising young RB that was efficient running the ball in 2022. However, he was very poor at the goal line and out of the backfield as a receiver. To remedy their woes, the Jaguars added Tank Bigsby from Auburn to their backfield. Tank is a powerful runner and a very capable pass catcher. I think Tank is a serious threat to Etienne’s role as the RB1 in Jacksonville.

Jared Goff is a top 10 QB.

Ben Johnson returned to Detroit after turning down potential Head Coaching opportunities. Johnson is a very innovative OC that brought the best version we have seen of Goff since his early years with McVay. Through the draft, Detroit helped Goff by adding a couple of explosive YAC weapons in Gibbs and LaPorta to team up with the Alpha Wide Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. Suspended Wide Receiver Jameson is slated to return week 7 this season and should only be icing on the cake for an already potential high-powered offense.

A.T. Perry is the Saint #2 WR.

Inconsistencies in college caused Perry to slide in the draft to the sixth round. Perry had a busy and productive pre-season catching 12 passes for 104 yards and 1 TD. The 6’3″ former Wake Forest stand out will be behind Saints starters Chris Olave and Michael Thomas to start the season, but I expect his talent and big play potential to be too hard to ignore and demand more reps.
